Nomis is a socially conscious HipHop & Spoken Word artist from Oceanside, CA. Studying music at a California State University, Nomis received a Bachelor’s Degree in Visual & Performing Arts with an emphasis in Music. Since then hes performed everywhere from festivals, arenas, schools, bars and street corners, to internationally in countries such as Trinidad, the Philippines, and Thailand.
Nomis has a strong passion for Social Justice and that is evident in his music. That passion was recognized by David Batstone who is the founder of the Not For Sale Campaign, one of the largest anti-human trafficking organizations in the world. That attention has since sent Nomis around the country to perform for Global Forums, Celebrity Gala’s and Major League sports events. He’s also released multiple projects including the album, “Rosario Dawson” which created a buzz in the independent music scene. Getting the attention of its namesake, Rosario Dawson herself called it, “Real Rap” among other things. He most recently has released the album “Socially Just” which tackles multiple Justice issues head on. The lead single/video “Traffic” (featuring John Givez), shows us a very real look at Human Trafficking in a manner that is both honestly and artistically raw.
Understanding the responsibility of an artist, Nomis seeks to provoke thought in the minds of his listeners with a hope that it will eventually lead to life change.
