ACADEMIC ACTIVISM | FROM SAN FRANCISCO TO SYDNEY

By April 11, 2012 Academy No Comments

Academic Activism aspires to create justice holistically by empowering individuals to use their education as their advocacy.  This is exemplified by the work of Not For Sale Australia and the University of Technology Sydney who are featuring two unique avenues of academic engagement: the Sydney Supply Chain Academy and the Free2Work Research Fellowship.

On Wednesday JULY 11 – Thursday JULY 12, at the University of Technology Sydney, the Not For Sale Free2Work team will host a 2-Day Supply Chain Academy. Participants of the Academy are also given the opportunity to extend their work through the Free2Work Research Fellowship.

At the Free2Work Academy, you will learn, dialogue, and deconstruct:

1. Complexities within global supply chains.

2. The exploitation of labor – where, how, why, and whom it affects

3. How your favorite company receives an “A” – “F” grade based on the use and/or prevention of forced and child labor in their supply chains.
